We believe the family dog is just that, a member of the family who deserves a holiday too!
Carswell Holidays owners Geoff & Zoe have three dogs, so we know a thing or two about animals!
We believe that if you have a well-trained and well-behaved dog that you want to bring on holiday, why should you compromise on quality when it comes to your accommodation?
We welcome dogs in The Lodge, Corner Cottage and Shepherd’s Cottage, all of which have well-fenced private gardens. They all have a kitchen or utility area where your dog can dry out after a coastal walk and they also have doors and ‘baby gates’ on the stairs to help you keep your dog downstairs! We also allow dogs in Lambside House with ample of space downstairs to dry those wet and muddy paws.
We allow a maximum of 2 dogs per cottage. There is a £25 charge per dog per booking.
We do have a few rules though that we ask you to respect.
- We ask that your dog is never allowed in bedrooms, upstairs or on the furniture at any time and is also not left unattended in the cottage.
- Please clean up after your dog in the garden and do respect the other guests’ peace and make sure your dogs are not a nuisance to near neighbours.
- Please keep your dog on a lead when walking around the farm – we have game birds here as well as livestock, so please do respect this request even if you can’t see any cows or sheep!
We have always found that the majority of dog owners are very respectful and conscientious people and look after our cottages as if they were their own, so thank you in advance for your consideration.
Sorry, strictly no dogs allowed in The Mews or The Beach Hut.

Health and Safety with your dog:
When holidaying with your dog in South Devon please remember to observe the country code and keep your dog on a lead when near livestock and at all times when walking on the farm. This is particularly important as we are a working farm.
Care should always be taken on the coast path as in some areas the cliffs are quite steep. Also the currents in the sea (especially when the tide is turning!) and our Dartmoor fed rivers can often be very strong – so do take care!
If there is an emergency, the nearest vet is South Moor Vets in Modbury (01548 830210).
